All of the puppies have cute names, but can we give them a new name.
Once adopted, you can re-name your puppy to whatever name suits your new family member. We give them temporary names to help identify them. You are also free to keep this name if you like it. This name is also different than the puppy's AKC registration name (which you will also get to choose). For example, "Brandon's Fancy" is one of our mommy beagle's AKC registration name, but we call her "Fancy."

Are your puppies registered?
 All puppies are AKC registered.

What about shots and wormings?
Each and every puppy will have been vet-checked, had their first round of vaccines (DHPP), and have been dewormed three times prior to leaving us.

What are your prices?
Prices vary with each puppy but are on average between $350 and $450 each.

I live in California, can I still get a pup?
Yes, we send our pups via commercial airliner (ie: Delta Airlines). Shipping costs are around $300 for the continental US (transportation costs subject to change without notice) which includes the air fare, shipping kennel and the required veterinary exam and paperwork.

How soon after the pups are born can they come home with us?
Generally, the puppies can go home with you from eight to nine weeks after birth. During this time period, the puppies are still being cared for by their mother. It also allows us the time to ensure they have received proper veterinary care in the early stages of life.

How can I keep my Beagle from running away?
You probably can't. Beagles are scent hounds. They were bred to hunt, following a scent until they're exhausted. Although with a great deal of time and patience, you can train a beagle to come to you when called. So long as they are not following a scent. For this reason, beagles cannot be kept in a non-fenced yard or off a leash.

Where can I buy a "pocket" or "miniature" beagle?
There is no such thing as a modern-day pocket beagle. The term "pocket beagle" has become synonymous with poor quality puppies bred for the pet market, and often sold in pet shops. Reputable (U.S.) breeders breed according to the Standard defined by the American Kennel Club, which includes two height varieties: not exceeding 13" at the withers, and not exceeding 15". In addition, the majority of "pocket beagle" breeders allow many of the common genetic defects (hip dysplasia and epilepsy) to be passed along. The result is an unhealthy dog.

I've heard that beagles smell, is that true?
Beagles only smell bad if they're dirty. If you brush them once a week, feed them nutritious dog food, and bathe them when they need it, they should not smell. There is nothing inherently "smelly" about a beagle unless it has rolled in something bad. That usually requires an immediate bath.

Do you offer a discount for members of the military?
Yes. To show our gratitude to those who serve (and their families), a discount of $50 will be given to service members and their spouses. You MUST bring a VALID MILITARY ID with you at time of pickup to receive this discount. Discount will be deducted from the remaining balance (not from the deposit).

Do we (pre)crate-train our puppies?
No. Our puppies do not come (pre)crate-trained. Crate training is a great way to train your new friend, but the process requires a lot of patience on the new owner's part. If it is done consistently, it works. Crate training several puppies at once is nearly impossible. Other sites will advertise "house trained and ready to go!" For the most part, they are referring to paper training. We do not recommend paper training vs. crate training. Having a new puppy is like having an infant in the house ... time love and patience.

Do I need a PayPal account to place a deposit from your web site?
No. a PayPal account is not necessary for purchase. PayPal is the company who processes the financial transaction from you financial institution to ours. When you initiate the purchase process through our purchase page, you are taken temporarily to PayPal's site to complete the transaction. On the first page (PayPal) you are given two options. On the left is an option to continue WITHOUT a PayPal account, and on the right is the familiar login form if you DO have a PayPal account. EXAMPLE
